Glass handling and processing systems face abrasive materials, high loads, delicate handling needs, and tight positioning requirements. Even slight inaccuracies in motion or conveying systems can result in substantial product loss. BRECOflex timing belts, pulleys, and drive components are engineered for durable, reliable precision in demanding environments like those in the glass industry, supported by application engineering support that can help optimize designs.
For over 30 years, engineers have trusted Brecoflex drive components for their proven quality, innovation, and support.
ISO 19001 Certified: Documented, controlled processes provide consistent manufacturing quality and product improvement.
Scientifically engineered designs: Optimized tooth profiles, materials, and constructions for repeatable and predictable torque transmission, load handling, and positional accuracy.
High-quality materials: Wear- resistant polyurethane combined with high carbon steel tension members delivers durabiliy and long serivce life.
Engineered to application requirements: Personalized support and extensive customizations result in short development timelines and belts designed around application-specific needs.

ATN® Convertible Timing Belt Systems with replaceable profiles and toothbars allow users to adjust profile spacing and shape without replacing the base belt in applications that have varying glass conveying needs.
Popular for: Glass product sorting, indexing, and conveying machines

move-series® belts are ideal for glass industry applications that prioritize strength and precision under high loads, such as transporting windows and large glass panes. Engineered for high loads, reduced backlash, and wear resistance, move-series® belts offer:
Popular for: Heavy-duty glass processing systems, polishing, grinding, cutting machines

BRECOprotect® belts are engineered for use in wet environments with frequent exposure to moisture, cutting fluids, and cleaning agents that would quickly degrade standard belts.
Popular for: Glass cleaning lines, glass cutting systems
BRECOflex offers a wide range of timing belt covers that are bonded to belts to increase abrasion and chemical resistance, while offering the gentle product handling needed for glass products. The additional layer of material can turn a stock timing belt into a solution tailored to the application environment.

A highly-machinable, high-density closed polyurethane foam with high abrasion and wear resistance, ideal for heavy-duty conveying and positioning applications.

A synthetic flouroelastomer material, suitable for conveying warm glass products during annealing and inspection stages. Resistant to simple oils, fats, fuels, acids, lye, and ozone.

A polyester fleece backing designed for temperatures up 110°C (230°F) with anti-static properties.

A natural rubber with high wear and abrasion resistance, often used to protect belts in harsh conditions like glass cutting applications, and provide additional grip when conveying fragile materials.

A medium density polyurethane elastomer, ideal for bottletransfer because of its soft feel.
When standard timing belts are insufficient, BRECOflex application-driven customization options make it possible to design timing belts that meet the specific abrasion and wear resistance, load capacity, positioning, and repeatability requirements of applications at every stage of glassproduction.

Welded Profiles (cleats): Abrasion-resistant welded polyurethane profiles provide controlled spacing, product separation, and positioning on conveyor systems. Over 2,000 stock profile shapes are available, with adjustable height, width, thickness, chamfer, curvature, and hole placement. Custom profiles can be engineered to meet specific material handling requirements or system layouts.

Machining: BRECOflex timing belts can be mechanically processed in several ways to meet tight tolerances and functional requirements, including back grinding for specific thickness tolerances, slitting and perforating for vacuum applications, and edge grinding to reduce lateral movement.

Belt and tension member materials: Material selection directly determines a timing belt’s performance, repeatability, stiffness, and resistance to environmental exposures. With 11 polyurethane belt material options and four tension member materials, a custom belt can be designed to meet the required pitch and width, as well as performance demands and operating conditions of specific glass processing applications.
Precision pulleys, tension meters, and our free online calculation tools make it select, install and maintain drive components and achieve optimal performance throughout the system lifecycle.

High-precision pulleys: Available in stock and fully customized designs, BRECOflex pulleys are engineered to engage precisely with timing belt teeth for reduced backlash and efficient power transmission. Choose from a variety of materials and finishes to meet environmental and mechanical requirements, including:

SM5 Tension Meter: Accurately measure static belt tension to prevent accelerated wear and premature belt failure.
