ISO 19001 Certified: Documented, controlled processes provide consistent manufacturing quality and product improvement.

Scientifically engineered designs: Optimized tooth profiles, materials, and constructions for repeatable and predictable torque transmission, load handling, and positional accuracy.

High-quality materials: Wear- resistant polyurethane combined with high carbon steel tension members delivers durabiliy and long serivce life.

Engineered to application requirements: Personalized support and extensive customizations result in short development timelines and belts designed around application-specific needs.

Timing Belt options for Packaging & Material Handling

ATN® Convertible Timing Belt Systems with replaceable profiles and toothbars allow users to adjust profile spacing and shape in applications that have varying packaging conveying needs, without replacing the base belt.

  • Reduce downtime with mechanical profiles that can be reconfigured using manual hand tools
  • Polyamide, brass, and stainless-steel inserts to match environmental requirements
  • Inserts are extruded into every tooth to guarantee consistent spacing and positional accuraccy

Popular for: Case erectors, carton filling machines, pouch indexing systems

Field connection timing belts utilize mechanical connections, such as connecting plates and threaded pins, to join belt ends in the field, simplifying repairs and replacement when belt access is limited. The resulting reduced maintenance needs minimize downtime, critical for high-volume packaging conveying systems. Field connections are not suitable for power transmission systems.

Popular for: High-cycle packaging machines, case packers

Self-tracking timing belts maintain alignment and minimize lateral motion without pulley flanges when system space or conveying clearance is limited, removing obstructions in conveying paths without sacrificing accuracy.

Popular for: Filling machines, labeling machines, parallel conveyor lanes

Timing Belt Backings for Packaging and Material Handling

BRECOflex offers a wide range of timing belt covers that are bonded to belts to increase abrasion and chemical resistance, reduce wear, and support specific product handling needs. The additional layer of material can turn a stock timing belt into a solution tailored to the packaging environment.

A vulcanized nitrile material with good abrasion resistance and a high coefficient of friction resulting in stable product movement.

A textured PVC material that provides extra grip for lightweight and irregularly shaped products.

A textured PVC material with a high-friction surface, ideal for rising and incline product and packaging conveying.

Custom Timing Belt Solutions for Packaging & Material Handling

BRECOflex offers application-driven customization options that support precise motion control, load capacity requirements, and positioning needs for packaging and material handling systems. Components are engineered to meet the specific mechanical and environmental requirements while maintaining quality and consistent performance.

Profiles (cleats): Abrasion-resistant welded polyurethane profiles provide controlled spacing, product separation, and repeatable positioning in packaging and material handling conveyors, supporting accurate transfer between machine stations. With over 2,000 stock profile shapes and adjustable height, width, thickness, chamfer, curvature, and hole placement, profiles can be tailored for pouches, cartons, bottles or cases. Fully custom designs accommodate unique product shapes or system layouts.

Machining: BRECOflex timing belts can be mechanically processed to meet the tight tolerances and functional demands of packaging and material handling systems and machines, including slitting and perforating for vacuum applications, lateral and longitudinal grooves for accurate product positioning and edge grinding minimize lateral movement in high-speed indexing and feeding systems.

Belt and tension member materials: Material selection directly determines a timing belt’s performance, repeatability, stiffness, and resistance to environmental exposures. With 11 polyurethane belt material options and four tension member materials, a custom belt can be designed to meet the required pitch and width, as well as performance demands and operating conditions of specific packaging applications.

  • Specialized polyurethane types for general use, food-grade applications, low and high temperature settings, and anti-static systems
  • Tension member materials include high carbon steel, stainless steel, Kevlar®(aramid) fibers, and Hi-Flex steel
  • A variety of timing belt series, pitches, widths, and tension member arrangements allow precise matching to load, speed, and accuracy requirements
